AboutRose Easterbrook is a mixed media artist, born in the hills of Mendocino County, California. She has traveled the world in pursuit of beauty and connection to landscapes and people in the places they love. Her formal education began with a B.A. in Studio Art at Mount Holyoke College in 2005, with substantial time spent in the Amherst College darkroom concurrently. She reveled in Medieval and Renaissance art by way of a semester abroad in Italy with Syracuse University, and she continues to travel led by the natural world, culture, and art. The beaches and art of Crete, the temple at Delphi, the Cyprus College of Art, Machu Picchu, and the Metchosin International Summer School of Art in British Columbia are some of these sources of connection and inspiration, and always lead home to the riverbanks, redwood forests, and oak woodlands of Northern California. She is currently a public high school art teacher in Ukiah, CA, where she has the challenge and delight of bringing art to her community. She maintains a private studio, and wanders the hills and creeks as needed. |
